RECENT EVENTS

We have performed for the following organisations:

  • North Trafford College – we have performed over many years for students on Counselling Certificate and Diploma courses. The performances give students an experience of being heard which mirrors the relationship between counsellor and client.

  • Carr-Gomm Supported Housing Project – we did a series of performances for tenants and staff  focusing on user feedback. Themes included communal living;  personal life stories; what is ‘home’ etc.

  • Sheffield University Psychology Department – a leaving-do for a member of staff. Celebrations are an important part of Playback’s work – birthdays, marriages, anniversaries, retirements etc.

  • Cruse Bereavement Care –   we performed at the final plenary, enabling delegates to share their experiences on such issues as asylum seekers, and the transgender and transsexual community.

  • Oldham Social Services – at a conference for users of the Learning Disability Service looking at hopes and dreams, we staged some of the aspirations of delegates.

  • Cheadle Hulme High School – we perform annually for GCSE drama students.

  • Salford Youth Offending Team – a performance for team members on the theme of ‘Engaging Victims’.

  • Therapeutic Social Work Team, Leeds – a performance and training workshop for staff of this team which wants to add playback theatre to the skilled interventions its trained staff are able to make with clients.
